And a few recurring frustrations:

  • Homes that never quite stop feeling temporary.

  • Spaces that look beautiful on pictures but aren't designed around the people living in them.

  • Spaces treated as an afterthought, leaving them more cluttered, awkward, or difficult to live in than they should be.

  • Believing you've outgrown your home, when the real problem is how the space is being used.

All of it eventually fueled the idea of a design studio.
